Position: Sales Development Manager

Position Overview:

The Sales Development Manager will manage and grow the Sales Development Team (SDR), whose goal is to generate qualified pipeline by developing opportunities for the Nearpod sales team. Our Sales Development Team conducts high-level conversations with faculty and administrators at schools and districts about their education and technology strategies and requirements. They’re the first step in the prospecting process and sales teams rely on their persuasive abilities and creative methods of finding potential customers.
The successful candidate will be a strongly self-motivated and driven individual who is goal-oriented, methodical and tenacious, with a successful history scaling and managing high-performing SDR teams. You will build the SDR Playbook which includes developing the tools, processes, workflows and guides with messaging, scripting and positioning.
  • Recruit, coach and optimize a team of SDR’s to achieve aggressive lead generation goals
  • Contribute to territory strategy and drive team business development, prospecting and lead qualification activity to achieve strategic goals
  • Refine the sales pitch and process to achieve optimum results by building an effective, repeatable playbook for both inbound and outbound campaigns
  • Establish metrics to help the team improve by understanding performance
  • Manage inbound lead flow and track efficiency/ conversions of marketing programs. Work closely with sales and marketing leadership to ensure success of marketing campaigns
  • Analyze data trends and produce reports and updates for senior management
  • Consistently achieve quarterly and annual lead development objectives
  • Identify ways to define and refine Demand Generation & Lead Management processes
  • Analyze and act on feedback from sales about the quality of sales ready leads  

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of B2B sales management experience in a SaaS company, preferably with Edtech background with a focus in one or more of the following areas:
    • Lead development
    • Inside sales
    • Telemarketing, cold calling
    • Outside sales experience for complex selling
    • B2B lead generation
  • Experience with force multiplier systems such as Groove and marketing automation systems.
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Excellent knowledge a must


The SDR Manager role will be competitively compensated on a mix of base salary and bonus based on team performance.
